Weekend Trip to San Jo

Since my San Jose friends come visit me in Southern California all the time I thought it was high time we went to visit them Northern California! We decided to make a fun weekend of it.
Dad wanted to show me where he used to surf. So our first morning we went over the mountains into Santa Cruz. We drove past his old favorite surfing spots and past the Santa Cruz Boardwalk (trust me, I did not want to drive past it!) We ended up at Pleasure Pizza, one of Dad's favorite places.
The slices were so huge I shared with Slimes. Good choice Dad!

My Uncle Steve lives up in the Santa Cruz mountains and invited us to stay with him. He has TONS of fun toys. I got to play with the air hockey table, ping pong table, little dirt bikes, bow and arrows, and my favorite the leaf blower.
I wanted to try out the weed whacker but had to settle for the leaf blower. It was pretty fun:)
The next day we met at our friends house to head out to their Grandma's Ranch. This is Slimes enjoying a McDonald's hash brown....so nutritious:)
After about an hour we arrived at Ranch Fran-zel in Hollister.
They have a couple cows there roaming around. Reanna said I could ride one if I caught it. Yeah, that didn't happen.
Luc drove me, Brooks, and Brady down from the ranch house in this awesome tractor.
It was so relaxing that Brooks fell asleep! Ok, not really.
Slimes didn't get to ride down in the tractor so Luc took him for a ride on his lap. Slimes LOVES Luc! They are best buddies.
I was stoked to be on the ranch because Luc was going to teach me how to shoot! Me and the B Boys (Brooks, Brett, and Brady) had to sit behind a line to make sure we were safe while someone else was shooting. Safety First!
Luc showed me all the parts of the gun and how they worked.
He helped me line it up and take shots at the cans we put out for target practice. I was so excited to shot a real gun!!
Mom agreed to take a turn shooting a gun. If you look closely off in the distance you can see pigs flying off in the trees.

She did pretty well and hit a couple cans despite the fact that she was crying! I like to think they were tears of joy...but I think guns just make her super nervous.
Dad loved shooting as much as I did. He even shot a couple of Luc's big hand guns. Me and the B Boys went to play by the stream while Luc and Dad tried to find squirrels to shot.
Slimes stayed strictly in the back of the car (per Mom's orders). I think he has a pretty good time eating Doritos while he was in there, just look at the cheese dust all over his face!
Dad and Slimes rode back up to the Ranch house with us in the tractor. It went a bit slower but I'm glad Slimes could have a turn.
We went to my friends house when we got back. Luc and Reanna set up the water slide. Slimes made sure he was keeping Luc company.
 Sweet slide action shot!
Me, the B Boys, and Reanna. We were waiting patiently while she filled up water balloons!
I got to have a sleep over at my friends house that night! I had so much fun playing with the boys.
If you look closely you can see three shells painted like Spiderman, and Angry Bird, and R2D2. They are the B Boys hermit crabs. Sadly there is only one alive.
Jude was wandering around the house and playing back in the boy's room. When he came out into the family room Brooks said "What's in your mouth?" When Jude spit the mystery object out we discovered it was one of the hermit crab shells! The ONLY shell with the live hermit crab in it!!!
I'm not sure who was more traumatized: Slimes, Reanna, the boys, or the poor hermit crab.
I'm not sure they will be inviting us back any time soon.
