Why Did You Do That?

Whenever my Mom asks me "Why did you do that" I always respond with "Yeah". I can see this frustrates and baffles her...but I find it to be a good way to avoid getting in trouble. The perfect example happened this morning. I walked into my Mom's room at 7 a.m. to announce "I pee peed in my room". My mom jolted straight up in bed to find me standing pantless, and diaperless, at the foot of her bed. She went running into my room to find my discarded diaper and a huge puddle of pee. She said "Why did you do that?" to which I gave my usual response. You tell me what would have been better:

1. I was sleep walking, I didn't realize I did it until I walked in your room half naked.

2. I was marking my territory.

3. I was trying to be self sufficient with the whole potty thing...but didn't make it to the potty.

4. I think it adds a nice bit of color to the carpet.

5. I thought I was outside.

As you can see "Yeah" makes the most sense.

I know exactly how you feel :) My boys love to mark their territory. After potty training one, I'm dreading starting on number 2.

It's my own fault. I was just commenting the day before how awesome he was doing with the potty. I totally set myself up!
