Jog-a-thon Mania

When Agnes Smith Elementary School started plugging the jog-a-thon (1 1/2 months in advance) Max was pretty excited. He wanted to practice CONSTANTLY. This included walking on the treadmill and going to school early for "practice runs". Although I was a little surprised at his enthusiasm I was happy he was so enthusiastic. Needless to say he was ready to go when the official date hit.
They painted the track on the grass, 1/10 of a mile, and had each grade run together. I liked that because I can just see the 5th graders trampling over these little guys! Each class was also assigned a color--thank heavens Max was green since he only has one school shirt and it happened to be that color.
I told Max if he did 10 laps (in 20 minutes) that he could pick where we went to dinner. He made it around 11 times! Not too bad for my short legged little man.

The highlight of the day was definitely the medal. Every kid got a REAL medal! Pretty sweet but aren't we supposed to be raising money?? I'm just saying.
 Happy guy

This is his Kindergarten class all adorned in their medals.
Obviously the "training" has ended but it was fun while it lasted.
