This year we traveled to Northern California to spend Easter with Eric's parents. They have been out of the country for the past 2 Easters so they were excited to have little kids to celebrate with. Max and Jude were happy to be those little kids.
(these are the stairs of death at their house.
They are steep and the banister railings are obviously not baby proof!)
On Friday Grandma dyed Easter Eggs with the boys.
Max doesn't get too fancy with his eggs. I think writing his name in white crayon was the craziest thing he did.
Jude was napping most of the time (thankfully) but plopped an egg or two into the dye.
The Easter Bunny came on Saturday and the egg hunt was pretty epic. What do you expect with 100 eggs filled with candy and money and only 2 boys hunting for them? Needless to say they were in Heaven!
Basket #1
Basket #2
(Basket #3 not pictured...I'm telling you there were TONS of eggs)
Jude loved not having to compete with very many kids for his eggs.
He didn't fill 3 baskets, but 1 1/2 isn't too bad!
Max found the golden egg in the lemon tree. That added $5 to his treasure stash.
The Easter Bunny left some awesome stuff inside as well. Max got all the Star Wars DVD's (I totally caved on that one) and a new soccer, basket, and football.
Jude got this sweet ride, Alvin and the Chipmunks Shipwrecked, and bubbles.
It was a fruitful Easter...complete with Peepsicle.
With the secular stuff out of the way on Saturday we went to church on Easter Sunday. It was nice to have the day to focus on the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. I tried to really teach my kids about the resurrection leading up to Easter so they would begin to understand that despite all the candy and presents, Jesus Christ gave us the greatest gift of all: Eternal Life.
