Mammoth Madness

My Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jen have an awesome condo in Mammoth. We were lucky to get invited to go with them at the end of this summer. It was so pretty up in the mountains and the weather was perfect!

Their family likes to go mountain biking in the summer. I am still too small to go but Dad went with the crew. You get to ride the gondola up to the top of the mountain with your bike and then head down.

Uncle Jeff, Buzz, Dad, Brooke, and Kate head down the mountain!

After Dad got back in the afternoon we all took a ride up the gondola just to look around.

Good thing we aren't afraid of heights!

Here is one of the beautiful views from the top. I can't believe people go down this thing on bikes!!

Me and Slimes with the Mammoth

Mammoth is super close to Yosemite. Aunt Jen heard about some natural water slides so we headed out one day to find them. Buzz was kind enough to be my hiking buddy:)

Family Christmas Card

We hiked for a while but couldn't quite find the exact spot. This spot looked like a cool slide so we stopped to try it out. I went down, Kate went down, and Buzz went down. Then Mom said "what are those little black things all over you?" Oh don't worry....just little worms!!!!!!!

All three of us had them on us. After some screaming and washing we decided to find another spot.

Uncle Jeff found this spot. No slide, but it had a sweet swimming hole.

The water was freezing! But I loved it.

So did Slimes! 

There was a shallow entry that he could play around in.

Even Mom and Aunt Jen got in! They didn't want to feel left out.

After a while we started hiking back on the other side of the river. As we got close to the end we finally found the slides!! It was getting cooler but we couldn't leave without trying it out. Uncle Jeff went first to make sure it was safe. When he gave the thumbs up we all got in.

Dad and I went train style a couple of times.

I went down once solo...with Uncle Jeff at the bottom ready to pull me out. Every one went, even Mom! It was a blast.

Up by the gondola was a kid adventure park. They had a rock wall, zip line, and bungee trampoline. Kate, Buzz, and I decided to spend a few hours testing everything out.

I was a little nervous about the rock wall but I kept at it until I made it to the top.

I think the zip line was my favorite.

I had so much fun flying through the air.

Kate and Buzz were doing back flips on the bungee trampoline. I was pretty happy just jumping up and down.

Our last day there we got up early to go fishing. I even got my own little Batman pole! I didn't end up catching anything but it was totally fun.

To end the day we rented bikes and a bike trailer. A trolley takes you up to the top of a trail and you get to ride down on a paved path. 

Slimes and I got the easy job. It was awesome because we were going so fast!

We went past a bunch of lakes that were so beautiful.

We had so much fun that when we got to the bottom we loaded the bikes back on the trolley to do it again. Sadly after a second trip down we loaded up the car and drove home. 

It was such a fun filled trip!
