For New Years Eve Grandma Eileen and Grandpa Dale invited us to their house. They were also going to watch the horse races at Santa Anita. I've never been to the horse races, but it sounded like too much fun to miss out on.
This is the bugle guy who signals the beginning of each race. He was very nice and told us about the horses.
There was about half an hour between each race. That gave us time to get snacks, walk around, and go look at the horses that were going to be in the next race. Before each race Grandpa Dale had us pick which horse we thought would win. I started off picking the same horse as Mom, but she kept losing. Then I decided to be on Uncle Derick's team because he always picked the winning horse. We made a great team:)

Aunt Ann Marie surprised me with cotton candy! I don't know how she knew this was one of my favorite things on earth....but it was an awesome surprise.
Slimes hung out a little with cousin Ryan. Ryan is about 2 months older than Slimes. He was always trying to snatch Slime's binki!
While we were walking around between races we saw some of the lead horses down by the gate. They lead the race horses in and out of the track. They are super friendly and let you pet them!
Mom is a little nervous around horses, but these were so nice! He just wanted me to keep petting him.
This is a big statue of Sea Biscuit out in front of the track. Hailey and I went up to get a closer look...and a sweet picture. Later on we took a tunnel that went under the track and into the center. You can watch the races in there and there is even a playground! It was such a fun day and such fun people to spend it with.
