Aspen Grove Family Camp

Me Monkey, You Funky! That's right...me and the other monkeys (all of my mom's side of the family) headed up to Utah to Aspen Grove for Family camp a couple weeks ago. I had the best time! There was so much to do there, plus I never get bored when I'm partying with my cousins.
One of the best parts of family camp is the food. It is served like a cafeteria so there is lots of stuff for me to choose from! The best part was all the different drinks I tried. I think blue powerade is my favorite. We also had lots of tasty snacks in the cabin. Paga knows how to party! and that means lots of candy.

Speaking of parties, Axel and I had a joint birthday party while we were there. Since we are six weeks apart, family camp fell in about the middle of our two birthdays. It was a Mickey Mouse birthday. Mom and Aunt Shalaine planned lots of fun stuff for us to do. We decorated Mickey Ear party hats, found hidden Mickeys, and played Don't Forget the Lyrics with Disney songs. It was such a fun party.

Here are the cousins decorating their Mickey hats. Don't they look Snazzy?

Of course there were Mickey cupcakes. For my 1st birthday I wasn't that into the cake...but this year was a whole different story. This is the before shot...

...and this is the after. You can see a tiny crumb of chocolate cupcake left in my hand.

Some of the time we just hung out in the cabin. Me and Cozi are chillin' on the couch in our awesome tie dye shirts that Aunt Jen and Aunt Lou Ann made for everyone. I call it my "fireworks" shirt.

Me and Cuz are hanging out eating licorice. We were waiting to go to our class with the other 2 year olds. Notice our matching "Got Spam" shirts? The whole family had them. They were a big hit at camp. (we also all had monkey shirts...we were quite the matching family).

My cousin Corrie and I liked to go out in front of the cabin and look for "cats" (mom says they are chipmunks...but they looked like cats to me). This is the appropriate stance to look for cats.

One of the most fun nights was Frontier Night. They have a whole cowboy town set up at camp and it was a Western party! They had a train, leather branding, axe throwing, target practice, Indian stories, and all sorts of other activities. We topped it all off with snow cones...which I'm not sure what that has to do with cowboys, but they were delicious.

Everyone knows I love the pool, and Aspen Grove had a fun one! There was a baby pool and a big kid pool. I discovered kick boards and had a great time with them. I think a boogie board is next, what do you think mom?

Me and Mom are in the big pool. I'm sporting a life vest because you had to wear one if you wanted to....

....go down the water slide! That's right, I'm shooting out the one on the far right. I didn't cry, but it was not my favorite thing either.

Right by our cabin was a big trampoline with nets all around it. I spend a lot of time jumping in here with my cousins. I begged mom to get one at home, but no luck yet.

AHHHHH, it's a BEAR! Ha ha, just kidding. It's not real. It was pretty fun to ride on though.

Turtles too....although not as fun to ride on.

We had a great week in the mountains. I'm grateful Paga took us all to this fun place. See you in three years Aspen Grove!

Max, tell your mom the "cats" are actually prairie dogs. I'm surprised she didn't know that.

Glad you had so much fun. Ax had fun playing with you too!
